Silestone is a combination of natural quartz and other raw materials that are extraordinarily hard and resilient. These characteristics combine to create an ideal surface for kitchen countertops, bathrooms, flooring and wall siding.

Because it is quartz, some varieties of Silestone can be quite lustrous. Because of the embedded minerals, Silestone can look very deep and have a three-dimensional appearance much like (but not perfectly equal to) natural stone.

Silestone is a non-porous surface and highly resistant to staining caused by coffee, wine, lemon juice, olive oil, vinegar, makeup and many other everyday products. You never need to seal Silestone.

One of the most durable materials found in nature is quartz. It’s a virtually indestructible material resistant to acidic liquid, hard knocks or bumps, and scratches. However, it is not heat-resistant.

Galaxy Granite & Stone offers over 50 varieties of Silestone that are sure to match any style or décor in your home. It also comes in three different textures.

  • PolishedPolished is the classic finish for Silestone, intensifying the color, clarity and shine of the surface.
  • Suede/LeatherThe Suede finish is a matte texture with a uniquely soft touch that offers high-quality color consistency.
  • VolcanoThe Volcano texture features a distinctly rustic yet smooth feel and appearance.

Silestone comes in various color/texture combinations that mimic natural veining like marble and granite. However, Silestone shines a little brighter than granite or marble because of its naturally occurring sparkle in the quartz crystals. Due to its consistency, it hides seams very well too.

  • The Standard Series offers a variety of colors, veining and mixtures of hues.
  • The Zen Series offers bold, bright oranges, greens, reds, and blues for modern styles.
  • The Mountain Series offers a more granite-like rustic appeal.

Baked right into Silestone’s resin are microbe killing agents. Unchecked bacteria can multiply into the millions in just a few hours, but these bacteria and virus killers can take care of them before they get the chance.

Silestone is easy to maintain. Silestone mimics the beauty and feel of granite and marble, but it does not require sealing or special maintenance. Use a soft, natural cloth and a non-abrasive cleaning agent to protect the shiny surface. No need to wipe or scrub hard. But you do need to wipe often, especially with spills and stains. Make sure heavy objects are not dropped on the Silestone. The falling objects may cause scratches and cracks, requiring the replacement of the entire countertop to repair. Use cutting boards when using knives and trivets when placing hot items on the Silestone countertops for best results.

Silestone can be used for countertops, backsplashes, and even in sinks and showers. You can even use it in flooring. The options are endless for Silestone with it’s ability to add style to any space, big or small. With its versatility in style, Silestone can be used in modern, rustic, vintage and contemporary spaces. The quartz crystals and pigments provide a wide range of options that do not limit you as natural stone slabs might.

L – Also available in Leather™. The surface of Silestone Leather shows daily living more than classic Silestone and requires a little more maintenance than this because of its texture.
